x61 tablet pc, sound drivers not installing

Hi
I am in extreme trouble since last 2 months when i deleted the old xp and installed new windows xp.
I download the sound drivers for my x61t machine , every time i installed the driver it shows an error message HDA audio driver not found, until now i havnt find any solution to fix the problem and my laptop is surviving without any sound

I will highly appericiate if someone here can installed drivers for my machine.

I am using SP2 builtin with my xp

Did you install the patch on the page here? Alternatively, I think SP3 has the files.

yes i installed the 7ka114ww.exe from the same link but it didnt work

so shud i need to install SP3 now?

You have to install UAA High Definition Audio class driver for Windows XP SP2 first. Then reboot and install drivers.
