Brand new Lenovo T400 - fatal error?

#1 Post by engma » Sat Sep 12, 2009 3:41 pm

I bought a new Lenovo T400 which I've now used for about a day and a half. I've removed several pre-installed programs and installed new programs which I need (nothing unusual though). Today, while chatting on skype and doing absolutely nothing special, the computer suddenly switched to a blue screen that said "fatal error" and proceeded to dump physical memory. Now, I know this is bad, but what is it exactly and how do I keep it from happening again?

hard to say whats going on..
but if it were me (having several spare HDD's) i would reboot and make the recovery CD's, then do a factory restore to a spare HDD and then run it..

i would also run some hardware tests from the recovery partition..
memory and GPU..

assuming it will restart..
