Virus???

#1 Post by Me2 » Sun Sep 13, 2009 3:14 am

I have a R61e with windows xp pro. I am having a couple issues.

1) My wireless will disconnect on it's own and then when I try to reconnect it says it can't use windows. So I have to go in and check the box that says to use windows.

2) Disappearing icons for example my computer icon in the start menu. Also things are turning black, like the box with the text directly under connect using in the wireless connection properties.

Both of these seem to be related to something that Malwarebytes AntiMalware has found a couple times now. In the log file it says

Files Infected:
C:\RRbackups\FR\UF\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\dmload.sys (Worm.Spambot)

Each time I have deleted the item on reboot. Is there something else I should do to keep from getting this again?

Try this: http://www.superantispyware.com/superan ... vspro.html

You only need the free version, I use it all the time & its fantastic, just make sure to switch off the autostart function with Windows as it will slow your system down unless you have a high spec. The free version doesnt work in realtime anyway, but install it, update & do a full scan. If that doesnt kill it I will be very suprised. It can even find & kill personal antivirus & other variants.
