New TPs with Calpella

#1 Post by Rochefort » Sun Sep 13, 2009 1:20 pm

According to THIS new models are coming soon.
What Calpella will bring ?
Can wait we for SATA 3 ? USB 3 ? a T510s with 2'5 SSDs ?
I'm on the brink to purchase some laptops from HP (EliteBook 8530w) for my enterprise after years with IBM.
If anybody knows anything !?? :)

That was leaked a while ago... All we could realistically expect, is probably new CPU; other factors are uncertain at this time.

I think we might see them using newer 4650/4670 GPU, in the T510; and at least a MR 4330, or MR 4530 in T400 if we are lucky. Its probably not going to have USB 3; but just have some tweaks, here and there - to address the current criticism, and add new features. Initially the T410/T510 will be a fairly bit more expensive, not only because its new, but genuinely the manufacture is going to face greater start-up cost in a designing based around a brand new platform.

For our own use CPU/GPU are not the main concern.
For us, a really improvement will be the SATA3 & USB3 with a speedy SSD

I highly doubt there'll be USB3, Windows 7 doesn't support it even.
