No Sound 2379DXU

I'm having a problem with the sound system on my T42. When I look at Sound and Audio Devices in Control Panel it says "No Audio Device". In Device Manger it shows the SoundMax Integrated Digital audio as being installed and working properly. In the Win version of PC Doctor it indicates that there is no audio device installed. In the Dos version I can't figure out which test to run to test the audio device.

I've tried uninstalling and installing drivers but have had no luck so far. I called IBM and their recomendation was to send the system in. I would like to avoid this if at all possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...Bob

Found the solution after many hours of searching. The Plug & Play Software Enumerator was missing in Device Manager (Under System Devices) and needed to be reinstalled. Here is the link to how to do it:
