thinkpad T61 model 8889 and wireless N on Ubuntu 8.10

#1 Post by twillis449 » Thu Sep 17, 2009 10:46 pm

Hi All

I have a thinkpad T61 model 8889 which can dual boot 32 bit Win XP Pro and 64 bit Ubuntu 8.10
I've just upgraded the internal intel 4965 a/b/g wireless card that came with the machine to a proper
4965 card with a/b/g/n. The win XP OS saw the new card correctly and I'm now running with a
130 Mb/s connection under XP. However nothing has changed under Ubuntu 8.10 (kernel 2.6.27) and
the maximum speed is still about 54 Mb/s. Since I use the linux side of this machine 90% of the time
this situation is annoying to say the least! What can be done to get increased throughput under linux,
or am I stuck at 54 Mb/s?

Thanks

Tony

No useful information about your setup => no solution

Could be anything. http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/w ... 025643.htm
