FS: Targus Universal Wall Power Adapter for Laptops (AC70U)

#1 Post by tfflivemb2 » Fri Sep 18, 2009 8:19 am

I just picked up two of these at a Walmart that was going through a remodel, and are reducing their stock.

I picked them up for $25 each. I plan on keeping one for laptops that I get from time to time without AC Adapters, or damaged AC Adapters. The package says 65W, though their tags said 70W. Here is some information from the packaging:

Code: Select all

Features:
-Versatile - For all major brands of PC laptops
-Smart - Adapater adjusts to the voltage needed by the laptop; no manual switching required - simply connect the right tip.
-Compact design - Small and lightweight for easy travel and storage.
-Built in Safety - Built in over current, short-circuit and over temperature protection
-Simple to use - Compatibility chart (included) helps you identify the right tip for your laptop.

Specifications:
AC Input: 100-230V 50/60Hz
DC Output: Up to 65 W of continuous power, 80W peak power

Contents:
-Universal AP Adapter
-9 laptop connectors
-3 foot AC input cord
-6 foot DC output cord
-Compatibility Chart
-Carrying pouch
-User guide

Brands listed on the front of the package:
IBM/Lenovo, HP, Compaq, Sony, Toshiba, Dell, Gateway, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Averatec
I'll offer the second one here for $32 shipped Priority Mail. (within the US)

I take PayPal, but might be willing to accept a money order, depending on who the buyer is, and their longevity on the forum.

NOTE: The chart is VERY easy to understand. Simply look under the manufacturer name, such as IBM or Lenovo, then find your model,, and it will tell you which tip number to use. The tips are numbered. For example, I am using Tip #31 right now on my X200s, and it seems to be working fine... I also see that it works on almost every model Thinkpad that uses a barrel connector (240, 36x, 38x, 600/E/X, A/T/X/R, etc.) This is PERFECT for working on these different model laptops that I get in. I have had family ship a laptop to me for repair, and leave their AC adapter behind. Now, I don't have to wait for them to ship...AND can save on the extra shipping cost associated with weight of the adapter.

I have an old Radio Shack model, and I can't find tips for most of these newer machines....

Last bump before I open it, and use it as a spare...
