Hold the SHIFT key down and press ScrLK (key is also labeled NumLK in smaller letters). The '1' LED on the display panel should light up.

This is for a T4x keyboard.

Disabling ThinkPad NumberPad?

#5 Post by cjsuh » Mon Jul 12, 2004 5:47 pm

I just got an IBM USB Numeric Keypad and when I put numlock on to use it, it activates the numlock on my keyboard. Is there a way to disable this feature on the ThinkPad?

Install the driver....

Remove the numberpad, install the driver and then reattach the numberpad...

Should I be at all surprised that this ThinkPad community has helped me where the IBM tech support team could not?

When I called IBM to ask how to deactivate the numeric keypad on my keyboard, they said my only option was to call Miscrosoft and have their tech support guide me through editing the registry on my machine. They also said this would be a billable call!

Instead, I heeded the advice given by n3il above, and now my ThinkPad keyboard and USB Numeric Keypad are both working perfectly!

Thank you!
