Z60t on the way and I have a couple of q's please

#1 Post by dwilsonfl » Mon Sep 21, 2009 9:57 am

Incremental upstream move for me the cheapskate, still not in present day, but hopefully a performance gain over the X40 and a little bigger screen.

what is the max CPU in these? The one I bought has a 2.0 chip, 2 gig Ram, 100 gig SATA

Is there an "N" internal card available?

Any real quirks to this model?

Eventually I'll get to 64 bit land, maybe 2011 will be the year. But internet and office apps, a little Hulu every now and then is all I do.

Thanks for the help.

Z60t, apart from the fact it uses SATA drives, has its closest siblings in T43 and R52. With that said, PM 780 (2.26 Ghz) is the fastest CPU that these will take, but I seriously doubt that the performance gain would be worth the expense.

Now, underclocker has proven that you can actually throw a Z61t board into a Z60t frame...if you find an inexpensive planar, that's your Core Duo or even Core 2 Duo upgrade right there. Once again, whether it's worth it in terms of dollars and cents is a whole another issue, and only you can decide that for yourself.

Z60t were not offered with any "n" cards, from what I recall.
