T43 "First Look" FYI
why are they saying that it will result in a decrease in battery life?syhead wrote:I agree, it's just a modified version of a press release. ...and everybody is saying the opposite: sonoma will result in a decrease in battery life. CNET's reviews are worthless most of the time. But thanks for the info!!!
also, does anyone think that the price of the t42's will drop significatly when these come out? i'm thinking of getting one (t42 2378FVU) but i'm wondering if i should wait.
do you think ibm will have a similar model with sonoma parts?
also wondering if anyone thinks the t43 performance increase will be justifiable in the price premium?
thanks in advance
this place is awesome, btw, such a wealth of info and support, just what i was looking for!

It's too soon to call on the battery life. I've seen some reviews where the Sonoma platform was worse, and some where it was better.

Homebuilt PC: AMD Athlon XP (Barton) @ 1.47 GHz; nForce2 Ultra; 1GB RAM; 80GB HDD @ 7200RPM; ATI Radeon 9600; Integrated everything else!
There was a recent quote from an IBM rep saying that they found Sonoma had more of a power draw than they had expected, and as a consequence T43 battery life would be slightly lower (from 3.5 hours to 3 hours or so) as a consequence.K.
