Finding battery harge cycles info on a T40...
I apologize for asking this question again, but I've searched this topic and have asked this within similar battery topics but haven't gotten a full answer.
All I want to do is to be able to find out the number of cycles on the battery for my T40 (23738CU). When I click on the "detailed battery" icon within the power meter window (i.e., not going through the Battery miser icon), I simply get one popup window that tells the product number, power state, manufacturer and ID number, plus the "refresh" icon. I get no other tabs or buttons that let get to any more information about the battery.
When I use the "Battery Mister" application, I can't find the cycles information either. I have downloaded the latest version available for my particular model. Since people around here say that can get this information on pre-T4x models, I'm wondering exactly what I'm missing or whether there is another route to this information I don't know about (whether through Control Panel or some archaic part of Access IBM, although I have gone through the power parts of it and still haven't seen anything).
If anyone has any advice on where to find this information, it would be most helpful. Thanks!

The most detailed battery information can be obtained from the Configuration Utility. Start> Programs> Access IBM> Thinkpad Configuration> Power Management> Battery Information.raisindot wrote:If anyone has any advice on where to find this information, it would be most helpful. Thanks!

I've done this many times. Click on the battery, and I get the "Power Meter" popup. Click on the "Individual battery" icon, and I get one popup window ("Detailed status on Battery 1") with no tabs that simply lists the model number, brand, power state, serial #, etc. No information on cycles, no other tabs to choose from.

Thats because you are clicking the windows power management battery.
You will need to use or install the IBM battery MaxMiser program to get the info you are looking for.
