FREE (more or less) x60 8 cell battery DOA

I have an 8cell IBM battery FRU 92P1227 that came with a recently acquired x60s laptop **NOT TABLET** that is deader than yesterdays fish. The battery manager calls it "irreversibly damaged" or something like that. I have NO idea if the cells are bad and the internals OK for rebuilding or if the entire battery is kaput. If someone wants it they may pick it up for free from me in Houston or it looks like it would fit a priority mail flat rate envelope which is $5, so lets say $6 even via Paypal shipped within US. If nobody steps up by Halloween, I will give it to an unsuspecting trick or treater.
