hallo,
i have a X41 2525-3CU and i want upgrade it:
1) i would swap the palmrest with a palmrest with finger reader, but i don't know i can do it: in HMM i see that the connector type is like the keyboard's connector but smaller; i have not empty connector on my motherboard like that! i have only a connector for flat cable (the zif tipe)near to the cmos battery, so is that the finger reader connector? does the finger reader card a flat cable connection with zif insertion?
so can i buy a new palmrest with finger reader and assembly to my X41?
2) i would upgrade the hd, i red some thread about the zif hd and zif to ide adapter and i bought the latest adapter with caddy included; i tried to find the hd but i see that there are many type of zif hd some are sata, some are pata some are ata 5 some are ata 7 , but i don't know what is the right one for me!
so how can i recognize the right and compatible zif hd for X41 ? which the technical features that i have to find? every pata zif hd is good for me?
thankyou to all

Re: X41 upgrade with finger reader and zif hd
1. I think you need a MB with that connector in order to use the FP scanner in the palm rest.
2. Most available ZIF drives today are from Toshiba and Samsung. It seems 80-120GB are the most desirable size and you would want 4200rpm or 5400rpm:
Samsung: HS082HB, HS122JB, HS122JC
Toshiba: MK8010GAH, MK1214GAH
I had tested a few of these in this thread:

All of these will trigger the 2010 warning at boot time.
