hallo,
i would upgrade a R51 2888-gtu with 1,7 centrino to 1,86 centrino that i have pulled out from a T43; but when i turn the pc the Intel centrino logo become Intel M logo and the bios report 1,4 pentium M processor!
why??? can i do something to get the 1,86 centrino working?
the bios version is the 1,01 of 31/01/2005
thankyou to all

Running with the 1.86Ghz Dothan, the T43 runs at a 533Mhz FSB(14x133) and the R51 runs at a 400Mhz FSB(18x100). There is no way to make this CPU run full speed in an R51. Due to it's lower multiplier it will run at 14x100, which you found out the hard way. You need a 400MHz FSB Dothan for the R51. See this chart, and look at 400MT/s standard voltage Dothans. Pentium M 745 is the 1.8Ghz CPU you need.
