Display Issues (Color Quality)

Hi All,

I am having an issue on my R61 where by each time I login to the system it starts loading on my external monitor as 32bit @ 1280x1024 however once the login process is complete it reverts to 8bit. When I log off, it somehow reverts to the 32bit setting. Has anyone seen this before or have any suggestions?

I am running windows xp sp2.
