Flashing yellow battery indicator light under the LCD flashi

The thinkpad R51 I just received has a flashing yellow battery indicator light, blinks and is not charging. Is it gone, dead, trash, need new battery or is there possibliy something else wrong?

Flashing amber light is the sign of possibly:

a) Dead battery

b) Damaged charging circuit on the motherboard.

You won't know until you try another known good battery.

Tried another R51 battery and it worked perfectly held a charge and saw that beautiiful green light. Going to get the seller to send me another battery.
