Wide VGA output?

#1 Post by hallkbrdz » Sat Feb 12, 2005 4:15 pm

Is it actually possible to get wide VGA output (for a 720p projector) out of a T40 with the ATI Radeon 9000 chip?

Something along a native 1280x720 for the projector would be outstanding, allowing me to get rid of the borders. I don't care about the LCD being on at the same time, just the external output.

You should be able to. If the generic IBM drivers does not give you this option, try Omega drivers.

As a follow up... the drivers did work, however after hibernation, they would flake out and have random color pixels.

They real key to getting it to work was to use presentation director, selecting a setting with the external only output, setting the advanced settings to allow all resolutions, and then picking the correct resolution. Of course after you do this, presentation director cannot capture the setting. Fortunetly the ATI multi-res program could save it as a hot-key.
