My loved t43 felt in a strange way and the lcd crashed

It is almost impossible for me to get a IBM SXGA+ 14" display...
There are LCDs from Dell but i'm not sure if it fits my T43...
So 2 questions:
Is it possible to replace my broken LCD with for example this one:
http://allegro.pl/item762402954_matryca ... x1050.html or similar ?
Is it possible to replace the LCD with IBM T43 14" display but 1024x768 (LCD, cover, connectors etc.)
for exapmmle this one
http://allegro.pl/item753306770_ibm_t40 ... _czes.html or similar.

Should not be any problem replacing the complete lid with an XGA one. If you were to replace just the panel, you will likely need to replace the ribbon cable as well. Someone on this forum will probably have just what you need. Have you looked in the marketplace section? Or placed a WTB ad there?
Collection = T500 - R400 - X300 - X200 - T61 (14" WXGA+) - T61 (14.1" SXGA+) - T60 (15" SXGA+) - X40 - T43p - T43 - T42p - A30P - 600E

a little update:
as i had no time i didn't look for parts, but today i found this by accident:
http://allegro.pl/item813414931_matryca ... _c510.html
is it possible that this LCD would work with my t43 ?
it has 2 big pros, it's sxga+ and is cheap as hell 1/4 of a XGA one :]

No. The pinout is different, you'll blow a fuse on the board using it.

What is the manufacturer's part number on the back of the old LCD?
IBM T40-43 uses SXGA+ Samsung LTN141P4-L02
Dell 500/600/610 uses SXGA+ Samsung LTN141P4-L01
Compaq NC6000 uses SXGA+ Samsung LTN141P4-L03
They are all look-alikes and if you can find the data sheet, you could check if one of those is compatible.
Good luck

Hi,
I'm a newbie but know more of the build side of things, the screen will probably be the same port connector. The difference might be at the board end of the cable which shouldn't matter as you have the original cable. If you can remove your IBM cable and get the part# contact the seller and ask the port connection specs.... Even better if you can return if not suitable. But If you get an IBM compatible it won't matter if xga or sxga, they all function ok.
Cheers
Kev

"Return if not suitable" is not a good enough option once you've damaged the motherboard...
Two pins are in different spots between Dell and IBM...and you will blow a fuse...

I found the data sheet from the Boe Hydis SXGA+ 14.1" LCD as used in a T43/p (Boe Hydis HT14P12-100)
Click on the text here:
http://www.pdfsea.com/down/down.php?downid=13489&id=0
It has the pinout (30 pins) on it as well.
Compare that with the equivalent Compaq/Dell data sheets as mentioned above.

I have a T43 SXGA+ 14" LCD assembly (the "lid", hinges, cables, inverter, LCD screen) that I bought to try to work with a T40. I'll sell or trade it to you. The T40 has an ATI Radeon Mobility 7500 GPU that couldn't drive SXGA+. PM me if interested.
