Pcmcia firewire card, imposible to capture video!

Hello, sometime ago I have bought a combo pcmcia with usb and firewire ports, firewire didn´t work ok, couldn´t capture from my DV cam, I thought could be because it was a cheap item from Ebay, so I made some research. Looking for in video editing forums I have found that guys recomended a cardbus with Texas instruments chipset, so I went to Ebay, and bought a decent one. After have tried in my T40, drivers installed, cam very slowly recognized, but no data is capture. I went and tried in a laptop at my work, it worked ok instantly.
I looked around that laptop setup (a Dell) the driver installed was "generic carbus". I installed that driver on my T40, but no result, installed the lastest drivers from lenovo, no result. Tried diferent apps and even the windows movie maker but all make the same, are very slow, and usually freeze and capture no data.
The only thing I oberved was that my laptop used the same IRQ for the graphics, the cardbus sockets (also Texas instruments), and the own Pcmcia firewire card, and even more devices.
Changing IRQ in the Bios make to change the IRQ of all aswell, so cannot avoid to have the same IRQ in all that devices. Although on device manager no conflict exist, the driver is properly installed and no conclicts.
Tried with XP Sp1, Sp2 and SP3, the same.
What the hell happen with my laptop? So cannot capture video on it with no way?? I´m really frustrated.
Anyone have any idea? Is there any solution?

Nobody have tried to capture vide in a Txx laptop??

No, I haven't tried to capture video to my T43. My old video camera doesn't allow that kind of modern technology.

Hopefully someone will be along soon with the knowledge you need.
