Small laptops

#5 Post by Kilowatt » Mon Oct 12, 2009 4:13 am

Yes I do like smaller laptops, mobile = small and light.

I started off with an X30 but after dabbling with Linux, I got the 'Grub loading error' and could not fix it no matter what I tried.
Frustrated, I came across a cheap X21 in a local cash buyer shop and bought it. I then came across this site and found out how to remove the 'grub loading error' and got my X30 working again. As soon as I could afford it I bought an X31 to get USB2 and most recently I could afford to become almost up to date, with a lovely X60S.

I did consider a cheap netbook S10 or S12 but I don't like the glossy screen or widescreen so went for X60s.

I'm happy now but you know how it is, they keep paying my pension money into my account every Monday and I have to find something to spend it on !!!

No thankyou Lukkbox

It came back from my son without him remembering any passwords, it's too much trouble to repair and MUCH too big for me, as it's not an X !

but thanks.

Nice collection you have there, I once had a X31 it was a great machine and with the extended battery I got 7+ hours off battery life
Only the low resolution took me away from the X-series as I work with many programs open and I need space. Luckily I could turn
to the 14" T-series which is also compact and has high resolution but off course not as compact as the X's .

But very nice collection you have....
X60 |3GB Ram|T1300|7K320
Owned
X31 2673PXG
T43 2668-97U
T42 2378-FVU

Apparently we have more in common than labeled power adapters!

I can now fully appreciate the OP's love for the X series as I am now a proud owner of an X41T which I just love to death. The only other laptop I have had in this format was a Compaq Armada M300 and when I sold it I nearly slapped my self.

The X31 in your setup looks very nice - almost as nice as the X60s you have there.
