Bluetooth woes...

#1 Post by imrazor » Sat Oct 10, 2009 10:26 pm

I have a mostly functional install of 10.5.6 on my T60 (2007-GBU). Since I have the nearly useless (as far as OS X is concerned) Intel 3945ABG, I tried looking for other solutions. So I bought an Atheros adapter (properly Lenovo branded) and tried that out. It worked under OS X, but I got lots of dropped packets. Same thing under Windows and Linux. Checked the connections, reinstalled...same thing. A dud, I guess. So I'm looking for alternative wireless solutions. For fun, I tried the internal bluetooth adapter, which seemed to work at first, but would then drop the connection after 10-15 secs. So I tried a D-Link DBT-120 bluetooth dongle I had lying around (with native OS X support) and now I can surf anywhere in the house. So I guess the question is why does the internal Bluetooth only kinda, sorta work? Has anyone gotten the internal bluetooth on a T60 or its relatives working consistently and reliably? If so, what OS and kext did you end up using?
