how to reinstall and get fingerprint reader work

T400 6473THQ, XP-SP3

I had new T400 machine in April. The fingerprint reader has been an issue while the system was going to sleep. As a resort we uninstalled the device drivers and any reference to that from the system. The system started working normally even after sleep activity.

I would love if I can get the fingerprint reader working on my system. Is the solution available now ? Can you tell me the steps to be followed to make it work again? Thanks.

I have the same problem with my fingerprint reader, sometimes it disappears when the computer goes into sleep\resume. A restart always fixes it temporarily. I think this is a big in the current driver.

To get it back you should be able to download the FPR driver\software from the lenovo download page, I would send a link to it, but it appears that site is down at the moment.

Thanks for the answer. I downloaded the latest version of the driver from the site and installing that I could get my fingerprint reader work again. I must say this time it is running smooth without an issue. The new driver has been a perfect solution for my laptop. Thanks again.

Lenovo Fingerprint Software for Windows 7 32-bit (product of Authen.Tec, Inc.) seem to slow when start up.
Fingerprint Software 5.9.2 for Windows 7 (32-bit) (product of ) is faster, I like this, but it don't support newest driver of sensor.
