Possible to boot 390E from PCMCIA Compact Flash adapter?

Older ThinkPads.. from the 600, the 7xx, the iSeries, 300, 500, the Transnote and, of course, the 701

Possible to boot 390E from PCMCIA Compact Flash adapter?

#1 Post by rys61 » Mon Oct 12, 2009 8:18 am

Can the BIOS boot from PCMCIA Compact flash adapter (there is an option to boot from external card but I don't know what that means)?

I have tried a little with no luck but as older BIOS:es can be very picky about boot partition structure I thought I should ask here if it is possible at all.

Welcome to the forum!

AFAIK, what you're intent on doing is not possible on ThinkPads of that generation.

Good luck.
