X60 Mobile Broadband data sim modem/bluetooth

#1 Post by blink » Wed Oct 14, 2009 7:38 pm

Hi All, I have just snapped up what i thought was a good deal for a X60 advertised online. The part no is meant to 1702-CTO which appears to be a Custom order probably ex corporate model. On the lenovo website it actually says this is an x60s but doesnt give the specs. Do all x60(s) have the data sim modem (vodafone in the UK) or could this be missing (along with bluetooth) as these features werent mentioned in the add.
I have very limited time to return the machine if unhappy & was thinking of quickly getting a data card to test the mobile broadband if present but obviously if not on the machine. i wont :D. If it has got one, I take it there is a slot somewhere to put the sim in? Where abouts would it be situated as i havent noticed it in any pics.
Thanks for your help

Hi paul sorry for the late reply as not checked in for a while.
The machine i got didnt have the mobile broadband sim slot or bluetooth connection as it seems a lot of the custom corporate orders ommited these features.
It wasnt in the best of condition to be honest, key letters faded, port cover missing & bit of case damage so i sent it back within 7 days as i got it from a business seller & got a full refund.
I had bought an ex corporate thinkpad before that was in nice condition but obviously it really can be hit & miss. It was (by my standards) a very fast nifty machine but after i got my refund i decided not to spend as much & bought an x31 for about half the price & that suits my needs well enough for a small take away portable. not quite as nippy but on the whole good enough for most tasks i do, music, web browsing email bit of youtube etc.
Many Thanks for any advice, shared knowledge & wisdom is a wonderful thing.
