Hello folks,
I'm freshman here. I want to ask you, what type of HDD to buy with using on T43p? I've Hitachi 60GB 7200rpm now (no 2010 error). What is largest drive approved by IBM? If I will buy IBM's non-approved HDD, how long is a delay during boot-up informing non-approved HDD?
Thank you! (sorry for my English, I'm from Czech)

Re: What new HDD for T43p?
Welcome to the forum!
The largest IBM-issued drive was 100 GB at the time.
Fujitsu MHV2120AH (120GB/5400rpm) is the largest non-IBM drive that doesn't throw an error.
With the latest BIOS, you'll lose less than 10 seconds while the machine goes through the "2010" prompt.
Hope this helps.

Hello, thank you for reply! I found Seagate ST9160821A (160GB drive) for a good price.
According to ThinkWiki.org, this drive should work out of the box, but there is note, that infamous 2010-error comes up during bootup. Why is this drive included into out of the box drives when error 2010 persist?

Re: What new HDD for T43p?
@lukee, you'd have to ask the author of the Wiki article.
@anthony, it will work fine but it will throw a 2010 error on boot.
