Can I upgrade my SL400 CPU fm Celeron to P8600?

#1 Post by edric » Fri Oct 16, 2009 7:18 pm

Hi

Reading the Lenovo HW Maintenance Manual for SL400 and SL500 series, it appeared to me that my Celeron 575 SL400 could be upgraded to a P8600 CPU. The manual apparently shows no difference in the internals, both use the same socket (478-pin micro-FCPGA) and the electric/thermal specs seems pretty alike. Besides, SLx00 seems to be pretty upgradeable...

Does anyone know anything about this kind of upgrade?

Thanks

Edric
