Thinkpad Z60t still good for student purposes?

#1 Post by techkra » Sun Oct 18, 2009 8:25 am

Hey all,
I'm new here, so be nice:)
I'm after a Thinkpad - and dont have much of a budget, ~500AUD, and have come across the Z60t with a 14.1inch wide screen, which is awesome! I was heading to the direction of the Dell Latitude D620, but when I heard about this, I was like omg, a Thinkpad!
Anyway, would you recommend it for light stuff, office tasks, msning, browsing - keeping in mind im only in year 9, and don't play ANY games what so ever. I might also do the occasional Dreamweaver stuff, and possibly Photoshop, and also Flash.
Would this system be sufficient enough for my needs?

Cheers,
techkra

Not all Z60t's are created equal. I would stay away from very low-end configs with Celeron CPUs, but other than that it's powerful enough.

Collectibles: T430s (IPS FHD + Classic Keyboard), X32 (IPS Screen)

The z60t should be great. I've had mine for 3 years and still runs great. i love it, now I'm in the market for a new laptop but only because i have to share my z60t and we'd like to have 2 laptops for when me and my gf need to use a laptop at the same time.
If lenovo still offered the Z line I'd be jumping on one!

A D620 will get you a Core Duo CPU, but the screens on them are terrible.
