Now that I'm done building almost all of the FrankenPads on my list (only one remains), I might let this one go to a good home...it's been a great joy to use over the past year, and I'd hate to retire it to "guestroom duty"...

This laptop was built in November of 2006, "in the U.S. from U.S. and non-U.S. components for Lenovo" and is still covered by EzServ warranty until December 20th of this year. Most likely one of the very last T4x units ever built, let alone in the U.S.

During the year of my ownership, the following upgrades have been performed:

- Installed proper palmrest with fingerprint reader
- Installed IBM (Atheros) b/g wireless card
- Original modem card replaced by bluetooth/modem, with proper clear plates
- Original hard drive replaced with Fujitsu MHV2120AH (120GB/5400rpm, the largest drive with no "2010 error" available,
covered under Fujitsu warranty through January of 2011). If you prefer a smaller/faster drive, Hitachi 60GB/7200rpm with a FRU is available. Fresh pre-load with recovery partition will be installed prior to shipping.
- NOS 9-cell battery with under 10 cycles, holds better than designed charge will be included
- Brand new Thai keyboard installed less than a month ago
- Original CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive replaced by DVD multiburner


known imperfections:

- Some wear on the lid, and quite a few scratches on the bottom. COA (Windows XP Professional) came off during the initial cleaning, but has been saved and will be included with the machine.

This is as powerful as any T43p (or for that fact any T4x) can ever be configured. The machine runs 100%, and the FlexView LCD is flawless. All in all, a VERY rare find indeed.

Wow, selling the personal T43p!

Question that might be of interest: is this the T42 multiburner or T43 multiburner plus (which also burns DVD+R/RW). It should say it on the drive.

This is not only one of the last T4x units ever made, it is the absolute ultimate, most maxed out T4x - CPU, GPU, RAM, hard drive (within the whitelist), LCD, peripherals - all completely maxed out. If you want a T4x - it doesn't get any better than this, and will give some low-end T6x units a run for their money.
