T43 keyboard problems
I recently replaced the broken fan in my T43 and, after putting it back together again have discovered that the keyboard is now not working properly: the U, I, O and P keys no longer work at all.
The keyboard was fine before I did the repair. Could it be that I inadvertently damaged the keyboard when taking the machine apart? Does anyone know of a quick, simple fix?
I'm guessing, though, that I'm going to have to bite the bullet and buy a new keyboard. However, how do I know that it's definitely the actual keyboard that's at fault and not some other connector or a problem with the motherboard? Does anyone know how to diagnose this?
Thanks!

Re: T43 keyboard problems
The only way I know to diagnose would be to try another keyboard.
Re: T43 keyboard problems
As part of the process did you uncouple the keyboard and then couple it up again?
Perhaps it isn't connected correctly?
No, hold on a minute ... the U I O P keys are next to each other. There must be something simple causing the problem.
Where are you located because I have a spare T43 keyboard for a 15" screen model. If you are in the UK and pay the postage then I can lend it to you. (Your profile doesn't give your location.)

Re: T43 keyboard problems
Thanks for the offer! I am in the UK, but unfortunately mine is the 14.1 inch model.
I did indeed disconnect and reconnect the keyboard. I have tried unplugging it and reconnecting it several times to no avail......

Not only is your location missing (forum requirement), but you also seem to have an invalid email address!
Check for hair or breadcrumbs etc. under those keys.
Also, try PC Doctor which has a keyboard test.
But best way to try is with another KB (or your KB on another laptop).
