X200t + SL9600 + Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator + 24" monitor

#1 Post by zern » Wed Oct 21, 2009 1:31 am

Is anyone out there using a x200t with the SL9600 (2.13GHz) processor to run Photoshop/Illustrator CS2 (or better)?

What's the performance like for what you do?

I am currently on a T60p with the T7600 (2.33GHz) processor, 3Gb RAM, XP pro, and CS2. The speed is fine for what I do. Oh yes I also run a 24" 1920x1200 resolution external monitor.

I am looking to upgrade in Jan 2010 and is trying to decide between the X200t or X200. I want something smaller and lighter than the T60p, with equivalent or more processing power. The t400s is too bulky.

I know if I want hard core processor power I should be looking at the X200. But the tablet holds great attraction for OneNote, Painter and Google Sketchup (aside from the Adobe stuff).

Thanks in advance for all your opinions and input.

I have not owned an X200, but I have used several. I previously owned an X200t with the 285-nit IPS screen. The regular X200's screen is quite poor in my opinion...even though the machine has greater processing power, I would opt for the X200t every time on the strength of the screen alone. Just my two cents.
