ThinkpadW500: WUXGA - CCFL backlight

Hi,

I do not see any differnce in my new W500 WUXGA screen and T60p WSXGA screen.

Can someone let me know whether there is anything to be enable/activate to turn on the CCFL backlight?

Your CCFL-backlight is turned on. If it wasn't, your screen would be black. Regarding the WUXGA display in the W500, see:

Note that the brightness of displays is measured in "nits." A 400 nit display produces twice as much light per square inch as a 200 nit display. Here's a discussion of screen brightness, what it means in the real world, and the differences between CCFL- and LED-backlit displays:
