Best way to make M57 dual screen
Best way to make M57 dual screen
I want to add an extra monitor to my M57 small form factor desktop.
It comes with a VGA connection and nothing else, but there looks like there is a PCI slow internally (very small PCI slot) - Maybe I can add a dual DVI card there?
Would anyone of any recommendation?
Full spec below:
Product: ThinkCentre M57 6071-D5G [change]
Operating system: All [change]
Original description: Intel® Core 2 Duo Processor E4500, 1GB, 160GB 7200RPM S-ATA HDD, no diskette drive, PCI Ultra Small Form Factor (1x2), Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3100, DVD Recordable, Intel Gigabit Ethernet, Windows XP Professional

The easiest (and probably cheapest) would be to use a USB monitor adapter.
Plenty of them on eBay: http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=usb+mo ... &_osacat=0
I'll leave the evaluation to you...

RealBlackstuff, thanks for the note,
I was hoping there was a better lag less way to do it
For example, I have a port replicator with VGA port I can use but it seems very slow sort of like its lagging,
I wonder does anyway know of a cheap dual dvi card that would fit in the internal pci slot?

I don't want to be offensive, but you got a pretty crappy machine there.
It has built-in graphics, that probably won't tolerate a second graphics card (or any other card for that matter).
But if it does, have a look here:

They're all US prices. I doubt if the likes of Elara have anything like that. Good luck.

Thanks for the help and no offence taken - your right about the machine, but its small and fairly quiet and does the job.
Its not a workstation by any means,
I'll try a USB to DVI connection and see how that works,
Many thanks,

I have never in my life encountered a machine that would not accept and work with a PCI video card.
