hdparm on a Hitachi 7K60

#1 Post by darkhelmet03 » Mon Feb 14, 2005 5:44 pm

I am contemplating buying the 7K60 60GB 7200rpm drive.

Has any of you run the hdparm benchmark and could share the results?

You can simply run (as root) the following command a few times and post the highest numbers:

hdparm -tT /dev/hda

thx

[root@localhost dd]# hdparm -tT /dev/hda

/dev/hda:
Timing buffer-cache reads: 1652 MB in 2.00 seconds = 825.30 MB/sec
Timing buffered disk reads: 110 MB in 3.00 seconds = 36.64 MB/sec
[root@localhost dd]#
