Hi,
I installed Windows 7 and Thinkvantage 4.0 on my X61. Everything works fine except for one thing. My laptop gets considerable hotter than it used to on Vista. This happens especially when I am playing video. So I downloaded SpeedFan to see exactly how hot it gets and I see that it goes over 60C. Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks.

There's nothing to fix. 60*c is an excellent temperature under load.

There's actually a lot to fix with the X61 thermal characteristics, but it's not the CPU temperature, I agree. It's mostly how hot the right palmrest gets. And it cannot be fixed as far as I know except by dumping the X61 for a different machine.
Which part of the laptop gets hottest for you? Does turning WiFi off help?

Thanks guys for all the replies.
It gets hot on the lower right side, even though I usually keep wifi off since I don't use it at home or at my office.
