Lenovo, Windows 7 and Device Stage

#1 Post by WarhawkCZ » Mon Oct 26, 2009 2:52 am

Hello Everybody,

I have a problem with missing Lenovo "Device Stage". I was using Windows 7 RC for several months and my "Devices and Printers" page was looking like this:

and when I clicked on Thinkpad Icon, new window, called "Device Stage",was launched.

I had opportunity to swap Windows version from RC to MSDNAA RTM,so I did that, but now a several things are missing and Device Stage is one of those. I have standard device manager without "Thinkpad Icon" (I tried apply Lenovo patch, but I doesn't work for me) and when I am trying click on Laptop icon, System properties will be shown.
Do you have any idea what is wrong ?

OT:
I am very satisfied with combination Windows 7 and Thinkpad T500, but System Update doesn't show all necessary packages (It was same in W Vista) and I had to download couple packages directly from Lenovo webpages. It's useless :-(

I am sorry about my English, I am Czech.

Have a nice day

Jiri

I have a ThinkPad Icon on Win 7 RTM and it launches into a display like the second link you provided.

Not on the ThinkPad I was looking on... I'm in the process of building it up for my wife, so right now it has a stock MS Win 7 Ultimate x64 image, with nothing else but whatever Lenovo drivers Software Update 4 decided were needed.

Problem solved :

I accidentally forgot install

"Intel AMT 4.2 Management Engine (ME) Firmware for Windows 7"

Since I installed that, device stage work's well and how I expected.
