Issues on my dad's T60: resume from standby & autodim.

#1 Post by mybellyisempty » Mon Oct 26, 2009 10:09 am

I reformatted my dad's laptop yesterday, my old T60 widescreen.

There weren't any drivers listed on the 7 beta site, they seemed to stop with the T61s. I don't remember the T60 and T61 having different power management drivers in Vista...I can't think of anything being different.

When the screen goes to autodim, it won't brighten back up. Also, he said if it goes to standby it doesn't come back. I had neither of these problems before I left, and I don't know what, if anything, he could be doing differently.

I just found out there's a new BIOS, I don't know what, if anything, that will change...but it hasn't been run yet. Dad's wanting to wait for me to come back to run it.

Sounds like a power management issue. I'd install System Update 4 and install all the drivers and applications provided. I know I just did that for a T60 and there were many drivers installed, many of which were not listed as being for W7 specifically on a T60 at the Lenovo websites driver matrix.
