i'm replacing my palmrest ...

with one without the touchpad.. when i update drivers for my pointing devices do i still use the trackpoint w/ ultranav version or the trackpoint only drivers?

I don't think it matters if you use the UltraNav (trackpoint + trackpad) driver since you can always tell the driver to disable the trackpad.

i shouldn't have to disable anything.. it won't be plugged in since there will be no touchpad.

Lucky dog...wish I could do the same to the 15" model I have. :-(

The one downside to the 15" form factor.

I don't think there are any "trackpoint-only drivers" for the latest T series. Simply update the ultranav driver, it will see that the touchpad is disabled and not bother (essentially same as disabling the touchpad in the Bios)

ya... they still release a trackpoint only driver for T42s.
