Can anyone share their experiences with the 1680 x 1050 screen?

Are you asking which particular screen model / manufacturer? I'm not sure... Do you know how I can find out?
I'm looking at the R500.

I thought it was generally accepted that the LGs were better. It's been a few years I've seen one, but the last one I saw was the LG, which I thought was pretty decent. It wasn't the IPS, but had a nice picture and a decent sweet spot. Are you looking looking at the R500s in the outlet? I noticed yesterday there was a bunch of R500s with WSXGA+ sitting in the outlet for $550. 16:10, get 'em while you can.

No, actually I bought an R500 from EBay and I am looking to do some upgrades to it. I couldn't remember which one was better...so LG it is. Unfortunately the Samsung is much more common on EBay.

I wish I gotten this screen. It would have been a $30 upgrade when I was ordering, as opposed to a $200 upgrade now.

Hang out on EBay...sometimes you just have to be in the right place at the right time.
