I have a T61p (6459CTO) with 2Gb RAM running Win XP Pro sp3. I plan to upgrade to the 64-bit version of Win 7, but have a few questions:
1. Should I consider immediately increasing my ram to 4Gb before I upgrade or can I limp along on 2Gb in the short term? I have not opened my laptop up yet so don't know if it has a single 2Gb card or 2-1Gb cards, although my invoice has the following: 2GB PC2-5300 DDR2 667MHz Qty 1, "implying" one card...
2. Since this will be a complete re-install from XP to Win7 64-bit and I won't be going back, when I get to the "partition" screen in Win7 install, should I go ahead and delete both the Primary and SERVICE001 partitions and create a new single partition at that point? I can't see what the SERVICE001 partition is accomplishing after the upgrade. Is this what most of you are doing out there?
Thanks in advance,
KKapp
