seagate 320gb working in 2hdd-bay in one T61p but not other.

OK. this one is really odd.

I have a seagate 7200.3 320Gb drive used as a system partition in one T61p 6458-AY2. It worked fine.
Now I have a newer T61p with an Intel T9300 and the Seagate is not even recognised in the hdd-ultrabay dock in this particular machine, although it works in otherones.

Anyone that has any clue?

Thanks.

Yeah. A similar thing happens to me.

My T60p always accepts a Hitachi 250GB hdd without problem, but after upgrading to a Fujitsu 320GB (in my sig), it reports 2012 error sometimes during hot reboot. It does not bother me too much, because it happens occasionally and simply a cold reboot will make the error go away. BTW, my ultrabay adapter is a genuine one from Lenovo.

I read somewhere that to solve the problem one need to flash the firewire of non-Hitachi hdd to cheat the BIOS.
