T42 Sound Issues

#1 Post by SteakandCheese » Thu Oct 29, 2009 1:39 pm

So, I'm really not sure how to state my problem.

So, my issue started a few days ago after I used headphones for the first time with my thinkpad. The motherboard got fried and I finally got it replaced recently.

Anyways, the sound will no longer play from the speakers in some instances. But, lets just say for the most part sound will not play from the speakers at all. Every so often they will work though. I'm not sure if this is a hardware or software issue.

I know the sound isn't muted or anything like that and I know in fact the speakers do work I've used them for playing music before.

I don't even know where to start. So, I'm just looking for some ideas before I start taking everything apart.

Alright I actually figured out the solution totally on accident.

Still not sure what it is exactly but when I put pressure on top and bottoms on the keyboard in the right spots it works again. Must have been an issue with a connector inside and I worked it back into place or something.
