biometric scanner and bitlocker

I posted this earlier in the "What machine do you have Win7 running on" thread but thought I might get a bit more visibility if I created a new topic.

I installed 7 ultimate on my R61 and its been running fine since. Installed without issue too. I do have a few small problems and questions though:

1 the biometric (fingerprint) scanner won't work and I can't seen to find any windows 7 drivers for it. Any idea on when they will be available ?

2. I was wondering ...... does R&R delete the partition when it installs windows (mine came with XPP) or does it just format it. If so, would enabling bitlocker be a problem if I want to use R&R ?
