I really wish people would do some research before they post!

And I wish people would either answer the ****[removed inappropriate remark by senior admin] question or just move on.

I have a z61t NOT a T series.
Also, when I was running Vista 32 bit it reported MORE than 2.99GB something like 3.32GB or something.

Your Z61t has the same chipset as T60/p which limits usable RAM to 3GB, although BIOS will "see" 4GB if installed.

So whatever OS you're running, you will be stuck with 3GB.

RBS, I honestly don't understand why you're so upset.

True, this is a question that's been discussed to death, but it's so fundamental, and yet obscure, that people will continue bringing it up. It's not like the laptop comes with a big "3GB limit" sticker on the lid. You remember how long it took to get to the bottom of it in the first place.

Surely pointing people to the right direction can be done without accusing them of doing something wrong by not checking every sticky in every forum prior to posting...
