Will new high capacity HDDs (12.5mm) fit in UB2000?

#1 Post by sojourner » Mon Nov 02, 2009 1:26 pm

Regarding an X31 Ultrabase:
Does anyone know if the new 750GB & 1TB 12.5mm HDDs (SATA) will just plug into an Ultrabase (UB2000) SATA caddy? Measured the depth of a caddy and it's around 1/2" (12.7mm) but i wonder if the connector port in the caddy lines up with the port on new drives ??

Pretty slick if they'll work :D

I'm fairly certain that it will. I've used the regular UB2K HDD adapters for a number of years with all manner of HDDs ranging from the 9.5mm all the way up to the big thick ones. They all had the connector in the same place so I wouldn't imagine the SATA version to be different for keying purposes.
