Question: Tablet XGA screen on an X61?

#1 Post by crazyfrog » Mon Nov 02, 2009 7:20 pm

I know some people were discussing possible SXGA+ mod to a non-tablet X6x. It is obviously not an easy project since one has to find a rare 12.1" SXGA+ screen and then moded screen cable plus patched BIOS. But it does not stop my attempt to have a Flexview screen on my X61 laptop. Yeah, it seems even an XGA on a X60/X61 tablet is Flexview TTF display according to this page.

So my question are:
1. has anybody tried X60/X61 XGA Tablet screen on a non-tablet X6x?
2. can the original X6x XGA screen cable be used with the Tablet XGA screen without the need of mod?
3. does the X6x bios need to be patched? (My guess is no since the resolution is the same)
4. The X60/X61 XGA Tablet screen has an extra layer. Can it simply be removed before installing into a non-tablet X6x?

Thanks in advance.
