Do T43s have the GPU problem?

I've got a T42 (15-inch, 1400x1050) that is having major GPU problems, and I was thinking about replacing it. Are T43s prone to the same issue?

Welcome to the forum!

Due to improved soldering process implemented on ATi-based T43/p units, they are far less prone to GPU problems than the rest of the T4x generation. It does happen once in a blue, but it's a rare occurence all in all.

Of course, you can also buy a T43 with Intel integrated graphics and sleep tight 1000%...
