t30 wont recognized bluetooth.. it sees the modem but not bt

hi ive got a t30 with the bmdc200 card
im trying to get the puter to recognize the bluetooth on that bmdc200
but cant seem to get it to work..

there is another issue that i think is messing it up..
because i did a fresh install , upgraded to sp2 and windows finds bt and installs
drivers.. but then i start getting the usb device not recognized and has malfuntioned
see my other thread..
then the bt dont work again.. and i cant turn on discovery... and the bt is not anywhere in
the device manager...

ive tried updating the modem, add hardware, nothing works
there is a bluetooth devices in control panel , open and click turn on discoverability
but it gives me error saying changes could not be saved..

i also found that the bluetooth software from lenovo didnt work for me
i didnt istall anything and xp found it on its own and installed drivers..
but then they dissapear...

so how can i get xp to see bt again?

Read your other post on "flush fitting usb2 card". This T30 runs AKE card and origonal bluetooth BDC01 successfully, so maybe I can help. From my experience the AKE is plug and play, those included drivers and installation instructions resulted in a non working card and unstable system. Dont know its speed, but my usb Realtek and Engenius long range wifi radios work excellent with it, better than if plugged into the T30 usb ports. So, somehow get rid of those drivers installed from that cd, and ensure you have the correct drivers for the bluetooth card, and hopefully it will all work. I should note factory bluetooth is turned on by a small button/push switch which is located just to the left of the battery icon on screen frame, the F5 key as you mentioned in other post has no defined function on this T30 that is fully updated XP Pro and IBM System Update. Also note that my device manager looks nothing like is shown in that AKE cd pdf install picture, and I've seen driver links for your bluetooth card on some Ebay vendor sites that may be worth checking out, and your card does have a FRU# on it I hope, wont work unless its approved IBM or modded. ya this whole problem is caused by this very common problem
lots of threads found on google

usb device not recognized and has malfunctioned error...
note., many have fixed this by unplugging computer for a while and restarting.
but that didnt really work for me.. but i think i noticed if i stay out of bt for a few days it sometimes works for a few minutes then the error starts..



my bluetooth works fine until this start popping up.. and and as far as i can tell
there is no fix for it and it began after using the ake usb 2.o card.

on a side note, i remembered i had a old belkin bluethooth dongle that i used before i got the bmdc card..... so i plug this in and windows loads the drivers and bmdc card bluetooth works for bout 10 minutes and then the usb device not recognized starts popping up again and kills my bluetooth connection on the bmdc.... but the belkin bluetooth will still work ok..

so for now i gave up on it. if i need bt ill just use the belkin dongle..

when i plug in the belkin bt dongle it loads the exact same drivers that the bmdc uses
and both the bmdc and the belkin bt dongle will work for a bit until the usb error starts.. then the bmdc will stop working but the belking dongle will still work .....just wanted to note this.

ah to turn on the bt radio i use the onscreen display u get with hotkey pack.
