Can you SATA with X31?

#1 Post by jtt3011 » Tue Nov 03, 2009 12:17 pm

Is there a caddy/adaptor to allow use of a SATA drive with an X31/Ultrabay 2000?

I've seen several threads waffle around the subject, allied to several Thinkpad X-models, but none which seem to give a definitive answer. Many seem to be thinking about it, or have got something or other on order which might do the job, but with no dependable results posted.

I did buy a SATA drive by mistake some time ago, which does occasional service via a USB caddy, but it would be great if there was something which would open the road to direct installation of the big fast 2.5" SATA drives which are now available.

Any definitive answers or assured pointers will be gratefully received.

No.

There is no adapter that would enable use of a SATA drive in the main slot on X3x units.

Thanks - that sounds definite enough!
