Login with Fingerswipe OR Password

I activated the fingerswipe on my T500, but now am not able to log in using a password. Does anyone know how to set it up so I can use either?

There was a previous thread on this (http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... nt#p517750), but the post with the instructions is now empty, so I can't see what was suggested.
