Chkdsk and Kingspec?

#1 Post by shighfield » Wed Nov 04, 2009 9:17 am

Installed my kingspec 32GIG SSD about a month ago, everything has been and is still working fine, the x41t is my "Daily Driver" and is used 8-12 hours a day.

About three days ago Windows XP crashed and I had to hold the power button to kill it. Now chkdsk runs on every boot and doesn't seem to be able to finish it just flashes by in under a second with no error messages.

Any ideas?

I've had a similar occurance with XP and an SSD. Do you use FlashFire? If so, that's causing the problem!

Found the only way to circumvent the failure of scandisk to REALLY check the disk is to uninstall FlashFire. Once done, reboot. After disk is corrected reinstall FlashFire.

Had to do this a few times as I was experimenting with various performance enhancements for SSD ... no big deal.

Bingo! Thanks that did the trick. I forgot all about flashfire. Going to leave it uninstalled and see if I notice a difference. :)
